“An epic, brilliant, bonkers race!” Ellie H, 2017
57km of Lake District paths, trails and rock with 3700m ascent will test your endurance to the limit - but stamina alone won’t get you to the finish line.
2022 Update: The route has been reversed due to how busy Striding and Swirral Edges have become and so you will now go in a reverse direction to the previous years races
You’ll need a good head for heights and nerves of steel: you’re going to traverse five of the most amazing ridge-lines in the Lake District: Starting with Lower Man to Helvellyn, next the awesome Swirral and Striding Edges, Cofa Pike and the ascent from Haweswater to High Street being Rough Crag/Longstile Edge
We packed all the best central and eastern-Lake District mountain running trails we know into this course: you’ll go around the foot of Birkhouse Moor, over Whiteside, Lower Man, Helvellyn via the Edges, run past Nethermost and Dollywagon, over Fairfield via Cofa Pike, Hart Crag, Dove Crag, Red Screes, St Ravens Edge, Stoney Cove Pike, The Beacon, Rough Crag and finally the last summit of High Street, passing Angle Tarn on the final descent into Patterdale.
It’s an epic day out to say the least....
